Evaluation of factors affecting academic achievement in nursing students

Objective: This research has been planned as definitive-association searcher in order to figure out the influencing factors by seeking the relation between general self-efficacy and success, and to consider influence nursery student's personal characteristics and of their features about leaning to academic success. Material and Method: The population is made of 414 people who accept to join research from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade students of İstanbul Bilim University, Florence Nightingale Hospital's. Data collected by using 'Information Form' and 'General Self-efficacy scale' prepared by researcher. Within thesis study scale's total-material point correlation index and Cronbach's alpha values calculated, and the scale points compared with gap analysis according to learning and socio-demographic features of students by giving distribution scale points and the relation between the scale points were calculated, as well. It has been utilized from statistics such as frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation and percentage in terms of analyzing of data. T test has been used for two independent variable in difference analyses, One-way ANOVA test has been used for more than two independent variable, and Pearson correlation test has been used for relation analyses. Findings: It has been checked at the relation between the nursery student's self-efficacy scale at the end of research. Hereunder it has been detected (p<0,05) that there is a relation between sub-dimension of the "Begin" and sub-dimension of "Persistence" which is statistically meaningful, positively and at medium level (rp: 0,569); and "Effort to Maintain – Insistence" which is statistically meaningful, positively and at weak level (rp: 0,282); and "Total Scale Point" which is statistically meaningful, positively and at high level (rp: 0,913). Result: According to result of study, it has been advised that students' contribution to suggestions that can evaluate their self-efficacies and development should be provided.
