Abstract (EN)

Thyroid disorders can contribute to the development of psychiatric disorders. When hypothyroidism and subclinical hypothyroid patients evaluated, It has been found to be associated with psychiatric diseases. DHEAS and cortisol hormones secreted by the adrenal glands. Hypothyroidism and DHEAS levels can be different in patients with subclinical hypothyroid compared to normal individuals. In addition, thyroid hormone abnormalities may be associated with various psychiatric disorders. On the other hand, thyroid hormone abnormalities reported as the reason of different DHEAS levels by researchers. The aim of the study is to determine the level of psychiatric illnesses among hypothyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism patients by using DHEAS and DHEAS/Cortisol ratio and to determine the differences between healty individuals and patients. The research covers 50 hypothyroidism, 50 subclinical hypothyroidism patient sand 50 healthy individuals who applied to Bozok University Medical Faculty Hospital. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Beck Depression Inventory and Beck Anxiety Inventory will be using for comparing the differences between patients. According to findings, the group of hypothyroidism is significantly higher than the group of BMIs euthyroid. DHEAS, DHEAS / cortisol, T3 and T4 levels of the euthyroid group were significantly higher than the other groups; The cortisol level of the same group was significantly lower than the other groups. The TSH level of the hypothyroid group was significantly higher than the other groups. The depression and anxiety scores of the hypothyroid group were significantly higher in subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroid group; Depression and anxiety scores of the subclinical hypothyroid group were significantly higher than the euthyroid group. However, the self-esteem score of the hypothyroid group was lower in subclinical hypothyroidism and euthyroid group; the depression score of the subclinical hypothyroid group was found to be significantly lower than the euthyroid group.As the diagnosis of thyroid diseases based on TSH measurements; when TSH values of all three groups are considered; the increase in TSH levels correlated positively with depression and anxiety scores, whereas TSH levels correlated negatively with self-esteem scores.
