A research on the field to determine relationship between in-service training and employee satisfaction in the services sector: Edirne Municipal case

Technological developments and innovations have experienced rapidly in the offices as in every fields. Employees in offices need education in order to develop themselves and to be able to keep up with development and to serve more high quality, more efficiently and effectively and faster. Investment on employees, will create a sense of value on employees and will improve employees? morale so that both job satisfaction and job quality will be provided. The main purpose of this study is to determin relationship between in-service training and employee job satisfaction in the service sectors.This study was conducted using questionnaires with 106 employees of Edirne Municipal. This questionnaire include questions of in-service training and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale, data was analyzed by using computer assisted analysis.Me study resulty conducted state a relationship between job satisfaction and the employees who attended in-service training. It was determined that employees have attended in-service training but at the end of the training they have not been assigned to a position of educational. In-service training ha great affects on institutional and individual aspects of employee job satisfaction. Institutions have to identify and decide appropriate training for their employees and to provide opportunities for employees to improve themselves in these areas.Key words: In-service Training, Services Sector, Job Satisfaction,
