Christian mission movements and the colonial era

Colonialism is an attack on the material and moral accumulations of a society in a region. The social, political and religious rights of the exploited peoples were restricted. History has witnessed that some of the indigenous peoples living in colonial countries were enslaved and some were brutally murdered. The occupying powers assimilated the indigenous peoples living in the colonial countries by applying a settlement policy in the colonial countries. Colonial history goes back to Ancient Greece and Rome. China, the Mughal Dynasty, and the Empire of Japan were early colonizers. Muslims, on the other hand, followed a policy of expansion without carrying out colonial activities. With this understanding, the lands dominated by Muslims reached Asia, Africa, the Iberian Peninsula and Western Europe in the New Age. Colonialism, XVI. XVII. and XVIII. It has grown to a very advanced level over the centuries. During this period, especially Catholic and Protestant states spread Christianity through exploration and colonialism. Explorers acted together with missionary groups. XVI. XVII. and XVIII. In the centuries, Franciscans, Dominicans, and Jesuits served as missionaries in colonial areas. These groups served in the colonies of the Catholic colonial states of France, Spain and Portugal. Again in these centuries, organizations were established to spread Protestantism in the colonial regions of England and the Netherlands, which are among the Protestant colonial states. Franciscans, Dominicans, Jesuits and Protestant missionary groups opened educational institutions, churches and chapels in the colonial and mission countries they went to. Indigenous peoples exposed to colonialism and missionary attitudes have had different attitudes. There have been natives who have changed their religion, and there have also been natives who did not change their religion.
