Huseyin Raci Efendi and Bedrika named masnawi

Huseyin Râcî Efendi is a person who lived in Zagra in Bulgaria during the second half of the 19th century and personally observed the 1877-1878 Ottoman Russian War, one of the greatest events of its time. Huseyin Râcî Efendi wrote many works of poetry and prose, but most of his works were not been published. Despite this, thanks to his work called Tarihçe-i Vak'a-i Zagra, he was able to become a well known and loved person in his time. Bedrika was written by Huseyin Râcî Efendi in the form of masnavi verse and prosody in 1894-95. The work tells the escape of Istanbul to the end of the repression seen by a Bulgarian girl who is Muslim. The work depicted in a living event is remarkable in terms of its content, language and style. In this study, Huseyin Râcî Efendi's life, art and works were examined, two copies of Bedrika's work were compared and a transcriptional text was created, and the content, language and stylistic features of the work were examined.
