Elementary school students' awareness level of their problem behaviours in the clasroom

The main aim of the education is to compose intended behaviours of students. Butsometimes, negative behaiours can be seen. The negative behaviours os the studentsare the ones which effect the teacher and the other students in the clasroom negativelyand these kind of behaviours prevents the learning and teaching. These negativebehaviours make the teacher spend the most of his time and energy for healing thesebehaviours.Negative behaviours can be seen in each class. Each teachers encounters withthese kinds of behaviours. According to class management, each teacher must knowand develop the techniques to heal these behaviours. Students? awareness of negativebehaviours becomes a popular topic nowadays as an important subject of classmanagement. If researches are examined ,it is seen that these subjects are processedfrom the view of teachers.By means of this research, it is aimed that whether there is a differencebetween students? degree in being aware of negative behaviour according to age,school,class or not.The universe of this research is the students who are in the primary schools ofIstanbul in the educuation terms of 2008?2009.The examples of the research are the 429 primary school students who study inthe official or special schools in Bakırköy, Zeytinburnu and Fatih. In research malestudents have %55,7 and the female students have %44,3 participation. The %57,1 ofthe students is in official primary schools. %42,9 of the students is in special schools.The majority of the students are 14 years old with a proportion of %40,1. The studentswho are 11 years old have %2,3 proportion. The %39,6 of the students are 12 yearsold. %17,9 of the students is 13 years old. %51,5 of the primary school students is in6th class. 8th class students have %48,5 of proportion.?The questionnaire about degree of beinf aware of negative behaviours? hasbeen developed fort he research. In the first part of the questionnaire, the personalinformation form is used to define the personal features of the students. In the secondpart of the questionnaire , ?The questionnaire about degree of beinf aware of negativebehaviours? is used to understand the level of the primary school students? awarenessabout negative behaviours. SPSS programme?s 15.0 version is used for the statisticalvanalyse of the data. Graphics has been developed for the results. Datas have beenanalysed by Scheffe-F test and average.According to research, it is seen that the degree of being aware of negativebehaviours doesn?t change according to gender. The degree of being aware ofnegative behaviours change according to age, school and class level.
