The effect of primary school principals? democratic attitudes and behaviors on teacher motivation and student performance

The main objective of this thesis, used by primary school principals to the success of democratic attitudes and behaviors of teachers and students' motivation to investigate the effect of the variables. The research population of the study is comprized of primary school teachers working at state schools in provincial center of Gaziantep. The research sample is comprized of 534 teachers working at 26 primary schools in Gaziantep. The data used in research, teacher motivation and democratic attitudes 34 and 33 items were developed to cover aspects of behavior were collected from the two scales. Collected data were analyzed through correlation and path analysis techniques.Analyses showed that primary school principals? democratic attitudes and behaviors affect teacher motivation and student performance significantly. It was clearly observed that sub-elements of motivation such as teachers? perception of the school where they work, organizational environment and management evaluation are closely related to democratic attitudes and behaviors towards teachers.
