Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between school climate perceptions and aggression levels of primary school students. The population of the research consists of the students in İstanbul and Şanlıurfa city Akçadere borough. 351 seventh grade students of primary schools from nine boroughs of İstanbul European and Anatolian side and Şanlıurfa city formed the sampling. In the research, ?Comprehensive Assessment of School Environment (CASE)?, developed by Nebraska and Michigan University and Turkish standardization process studied by Faika Yelda Acarbay; ?Sears? Aggression Scale?, developed by Sears (1961) and Turkish standardization process studied by Sevda Uluğtekin; ?Personel İnformation Form?, developed by writer were used.In the study, independent group t- test, single ? sided variance analysis (ANOVA), non parametric Kruskal Wallis test, non parametric Mann Whitney - U test, Post Hoc LSD and Tamhane?s T2 tests, Pearson Multiplication Momentum Correlation Analysis were used and signifance level was adopted on the .05 level.With the results of the analyzes, it was founded that aggression levels and school environment perceptions differentiate significant with demographic variables. Nonetheless, a negative relationship was founded between aggression levels and school environment perceptions of students. Thus, it has revealed that existence of a positive school environment decrements the students? aggressiveness.Keywords: Aggression, Violence, School Climate, School Environment, School Safety
