The opınıon of students who on 8th year at middle school and their parents about vocational high schools limitid with Kastamonu

The purpose of this research is to expose 8th year students? and their parents? opinions about vocational high schools. The model of this research is descriptive. It was applied questionnaires to sample that was chosen. Data which obtained by questionnaires and information forms that given to school managers are processed with statistical analysises. The questionnaires were applied to 8th year students and their parents in 19 middle schools which in Kastamonu central. Sample has 396 students as 218 girl, 178 boy and 396 parents.As result, it is seen that, 89,9% of students aren?t plan to attend to a vocational high school and 27,9% of students don?t want to attend to a vocational high school even they have to attend. Both students and parents have most positive opinion for vocational high school of health. Students? common opinion is that the students who haven?t good marks attend to vocational high schools. But they know necessity of vocational high schools. Although parents are more sensetive about necessity of vocational high schools, they think that the students who haven?t good marks attend to vocational high schools, too. Also, parents stated that education in the vocaitonal high schools are not enough for their children and to pass universitiy exam.The results of the research suggest that there is a significant relation between student?s choise for the vocational high schools with their marks and revenues. A significant difference between student?s choise for vocaitonal high schools with education quality and advantages for university. There is no significant relation between student?s choise for the vocaitonal high schools with the genders.
