Evaluation of the secondary school 2nd grade English lesson teaching program practice effectiveness

Evaluation of The Secondary School 2nd Grade English Lesson Teaching Program Practice Effectiveness The aim of this study is to identify secondary school 2nd grade English teaching program practice effectiveness with regards to the teacher's remarks. The study is implemented by semi-structured interview technic from the qualitative research technics and has a qualification of a case study as a pattern. According to this perspective, the samples of this study consist of the teachers working as the English teachers of the secondary school 2nd grade students in Diyarbakır. The study sample is selected from the purposive sampling methods by using maximum various samples. Data collection tool in this study consists of two chapters. In the first chapter, the matters of the personal data of the participants are presented and in the second chapter, there is a teacher interview form consisted of six matters to evaluate the opinions of the teachers about the program. At the end of this study, the below are concluded: 1. Acquisitions aimed to be gained to the students in this program are applicable for the students with regards to their evolution characteristics. 2. Content aimed to be gained to the students in this program are not appropriate to the students' evolution scales. 3. The program is not up to grade to satisfy the needs by taking into consideration the socio-cultural and socio-economic levels of the students. 4. The inadequate physical structure of the classes or schools and the inadequate materials and equipment affect adversely the conduction of the activities. 5. The written and visual materials (authentic materials, posters, flash cards, puppets, etc.) are inadequate to implement the learning activities. 6. The most preferred evaluation method by the teachers is the evaluation based on the teachers' views. 7. An on-the-job-training seminar related to the new program wasn't organized for the teachers and the teachers do not have enough information about the program. 8. The aimed learning level could not be reached because the students could not gain the school maturity and the reading-writing sufficiency.
