Abstract (EN)

When wastes resulting from increasing population, industrialization, and technological developments combine with the consumed natural sources, we begin to face the ?environmental problems?, one of the most essential problems of the world, which is getting smaller day by day. Numerous studies are conducted in order to solve this problem. In order for us to prevent that the wastes are a burden on us and the environment alike and to make them used for the benefit of the economy, recycling is one of the attempts considered. The circumstances which make recycling the main goal of today in textile industry like every sector, the idea of recycling and preventing the wasteful use of natural sources have had a new dimension. In the study carried out for this thesis, textile products used in construction sector, and especially the properties of nonwoven fabrics used for insulation, have been examined. Fifteen different fabric samples have been prepared from the r-PET and v-PET fibers produced from the recycled plastic bottles considered as wastes consisting of 6, 10 and 14 web layer and blended with the ratio of 100 % v- PET, 70 % v- PET, 30 % r- PET, 50 % v-PET, 50 % r-PET, 30 % v-PET, 70 % r-PET, 100 % r-PET. Physical and mechanical properties and technical performances of these fabrics, which are supposed to be used as insulation materials in buildings, have been examined. Breaking strength, breaking elongation, bending resistance, thickness, weight, drape, air permeability, steam permeability and thermal property values of these fabrics have been measured by standard test methods. The data obtained have been evaluated and compared on the basis of blend change effect and web layer.
