Abstract (EN)
This work comprises of the folk beliefs, festivals and ceremonies of Kirkuk Turkmens. İn preface and the first chapter of this study, collective information about the historical, geographical, human beings, tourist and economical structure has been given. The second chapter of this study is comprised of an analytical study which talks about the transition periods (birth-marriage-death) and folk beliefs in per diem life of Iraqi / Kirkuk Turkmen.The titles given in this part, andduring the compilation, going through all the available and collected inscriptive and oral sources, relations of these sources to the Old Turkic beliefs have been evaluated. The third chapter of my research carries the gleanings obtained from the oral sources about daily life, nature, time, universe, home contents, numbers and figures, animals, evil eye, blessings and imprecations in Kirkuk folk culture. In the fourth chapter of this research, topics such as kandil, holy months, religious and national festivals, ceremonies and related folk beliefs in Kirkuk folk culture are analysed. Also in this section, following the inscriptive and oral sources customs and beliefs are examined. Key Words: Kirkuk, Folk Beliefs, Festivals, Ceremonies.
