Innovation management at firms and a cross-sectoral empirical study in Istanbul city

Fast-changing and evolving world, for firms to obtain sustainable competitive advantage, which appears as an indispensable element of innovation and the increase in the importance given to the concept of the agendas of corporate executives started to become more and more concern. On the concept of innovation as a whole must be considered and done so many ideas and interpretations argued emerges as a key element. The main purpose of this study, highlighting the importance of innovation in terms of businesses, innovation management is considered. The first part of the study before forming the basic structure of the concept of innovation, its history, importance, characteristics, types, processes examined, then what are the barriers to innovation and innovation is discussed reasons. The second chapter examined the strategic planning. Modern approaches are discussed in the third section, the financial management are analyzed in the fourth section. In Istanbul, the scale of the sample examined in the study of innovation and management practices of companies that interest for the realization of the research hypotheses are established in accordance with the purpose of using SPSS 17 software package reliability and validity, correlation and regression analyzes were tested.
