Abstract (EN)

The word journal ('mecmua' in Turkish) which derives from the word root 'cem' in Arabic language is formed with selected poetical or prosaic texts about religious or non-religious subjects and is mostly used for manuscripts the writers and dates of which are uncertain. Journals are works that are created through compilation and that reflect the taste of the compiler. These works can either be neat and organized or disorganized. Journals are of vital importance for literature history in terms of revealing the poems that poets do not put into their divan or bringing the names of anonymous poets to light. In our study, the poetry journal called Mecmû'a-i Eş'âr registered under the number OE_Yz_0119 in the department of manuscripts of Atatürk Library in the Metropolitan Municipality of İstanbul is analyzed according to the systematic classification project of journals (SCPJ).
