Investigation of leisure time barriers and leisure management levels of female employees in terms of different variables

In this study, it is aimed to examine the leisure time barriers and leisure management levels of female employees in terms of different variables. The study group was determined by the appropriate sampling method and consisted of 1915 female participants, between the ages of 18-51, residing permanently and continuously in the Selçuklu district of Konya. Data were collected by face-to-face and online survey technique.The sociodemographic data form, Leisure Time Barriers Scale Short Form and Leisure Management Scale, which were determined in line with the purpose of the research, were applied to the participants.The analysis of the data was evaluated with the SPSS 26.0 package program. According to the results of the Skewness and Kurtosis test performed to determine whether the data showed a normal distribution, it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. After it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution, Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskal Wallis test and Correlation analysis methods were used to compare various variables as well as descriptive statistics in the analysis of the data. Significance level was accepted as p<0.05. In the light of the findings, a significant relationship was found between the age variable of the participants and the lack of knowledge from the sub-dimensions of leisure time barriers, the sub-dimensions of time, leisure time attitude and programming sub-dimensions (P<0.05).While a significant relationship was found between the marital status variable and the programming sub-dimensions of lack of information, facility, time, and leisure management sub-dimensions (P<0.05), there was no significant difference between the other sub-dimensions (p˃0.05). A significant relationship was found between the income status variable and the sub-dimensions of leisure time barriers, lack of information, lack of friends, programming sub-dimensions of leisure time management (P<0.05).A significant relationship was found between the variable of the number of children and the lack of knowledge from the sub-dimensions of leisure time barriers, the leisure attitude from the sub-dimensions of facility, time, and leisure management (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the number of children and other sub-dimensions (P˃0.05).A significant relationship was found between the institution they work for and the programming sub-dimension, which is one of the sub-dimensions of leisure time barriers, lack of information, facility, lack of friends, time, and leisure management (P<0.05). In conclusion; While it was determined that the limiter in front of the leisure time barriers of working women was the lack of knowledge, it was determined that in terms of leisure time management, it was in the direction of programming.As a result of the correlation analysis between Leisure Time Barriers and Leisure Management, it was determined that the strongest relationship was between Goal Setting and Method and Evaluation, which are the sub-dimensions of leisure time management.
