Abstract (EN)

The use of art as an instrument of defiance with the second and third wave feminism through the women's freedom struggle improved feminist art. However, feminist art fails to satisfy concerning women in the matter of gaining strength against authority. In this context, women need an effective field of art that can be used as a means of the fight to be able to convey all the problems they have experienced throughout their lives and make changes as long as they can. In this case theater can be considered as an active field of art that enables the differentiation of political and cultural formations in favor of the existence of women's identity, which in turn enables women to have rights concerning their own lives and ensures the disappearance of women's marginalized positions due to gender inequality, where women can take place with their female identity and where women exist with their experiences as oppressed because of their femininity. In this aim, we will discuss the use of theatre as an instrument in the struggle for liberation studying the construction of consciousness in the perception of women's own identity, personality, body, and language and transformative power in the social, cultural, and economic life. In the light of this context, we will study it within the limits of the theory of feminism focusing on the representation of women in Ferhad ile Şirin of Nazım Hikmet. We will also explore the created image of the woman in the play. We will examine the facts we take for granted, do not see or individualize within a different point of view. We will objectively reinterpret Ferhad ile Şirin's critical attitude interrogating the existing system and bring to light the masculine aspect. Keywords: Feminist Theatre, Women's Role in Theatre, Feminism, Nazım Hikmet, Ferhad ile Şirin.
