Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effects of emotional intelligence and some demographic variables on grief. The sample of the study consists of 205 participants reached by appropriate sampling method. The questionnaire used to collect data includes Demographic Information Form, Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Test and Texas Adjusted Grief Scale. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and gender (being a woman). In addition, it was determined that there were negative and significant relationships between grief and gender (being a woman), and emotional intelligence. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that gender (being a woman) and emotional intelligence had negative and significant effects on the grief. Finally, as a result of the t-test, it was determined that the emotional intelligence and grief levels of the participants differed significantly according to their genders. Accordingly, it was determined that the emotional intelligence levels of women were higher than men, but the grief density of men was higher than women.
