Abstract (EN)
To play a musical instrument, hands and fingers must perform fast, repetitive and complex movements. Shoulder position, muscle and joint stability and control of upper extremity movements depend on scapular performance. However, scapular asymmetry may develop due to asymmetric use of long-term upper extremities. This risk is high for musicians playing the violin. The aim of the study was to investigate the presence of scapular dyskinesia among violinist musicians compared to individuals who did not play any instrument; scapular asymmetry, shoulder internal and external rotation range of motion and shoulder mobility, and isokinetic muscle strength(60°/sec ve 180°/sec'de) of shoulder internal and external rotators from the muscles around the scapula. A study and control group of 30 people was formed. Scapular dyskinesia evaluation, shoulder internal and external rotation range of motion, shortness elasticity measurement, hand grip strength measurement, shoulder internal and external isokinetic evaluation were performed. Statistical analyzes were performed with the SPSS 15 package program and the level of significance was set at 0.05 (p <0.05). Isokinetic muscle strength of the right arm external rotator muscles at an angular velocity of 60 ° / sec was higher in the study group (p = 0.003). There was a significant difference in flexibility compared to the control group, but no difference was found in shoulder rotations, range of motion, scapular asymmetry and scapular dyskinesia. A weak correlation was found between LSST and Scapular dyskinesia. The sense of proprioception was better in the study group in shoulder abduction and rotation movements. As a result, while flexibility and proprioception sense were better in violinists, there was no difference in strength and position of the scapula compared to the control group. In order to see the force imbalances and understand the effect of these variables on performance, we can suggest that dynamic evaluations should be made instead of static, with a higher number of participants.
