Investigating innovative urban furnishings in urban areas; Example of Bağcılar district

The Bagcilar, which has reached the district status since 1992, is in a central position. About one percent of Turkey's population lives within the boundaries of the district. It is obvious that Bağcılar, that is thought to solve the transportation problem with the rail systems networks under construction, will become a center of attraction after the completion of the large residential projects under construction and that the population will become more and more migrated. Urban furniture used in every place of the city is very important because it is a fact that makes social and interpersonal communication possible and even facilitates it. All this information reveals the prominence of the urban furniture that Bagcilar uses in his day-to-day life. One of the main aims of this study is to research about the contemporary designs of urban furniture which are used continuously in daily life and the effect of these city furniture on the quality of life. In the first place, general information about urban and urban furniture has been given and tried to explain the relationship and development between them. Urban spaces and urban furniture used in these spaces emphasized the importance of human life and tried to reveal the relation of these urban furniture with our living quarters. The concept of urban furniture has been examined from different angles and some classification has been made. In parallel with these studies, urban furniture has been handled in general and some criteria have been tried to be established in order to increase its function, to make a positive contribution to urban aesthetics and to increase the quality of life. As a result, city furniture; The necessity of conducting more systematic studies on how living factors should be produced and applied in the first place and in terms of how they should be produced and applied in the direction of contemporary urban planning principles should be explained with examples of Bağcılar district.
