Comparative morphology of Kirkuk central dialect with other Iraqi Türkmen dialects (Derivative morphology)

In the master's thesis titled Comparative Morphology of Kirkuk Central Dialect with Other Iraqi Turkmen Dialects (Derivative Morphology), Kirkuk Turkmen dialect, which is located in the southern branch of the Eastern Oghuz group, was discussed in terms of morphology and compared with other dialects spoken by Turkmens in the region. This master thesis consists of three main parts. In the first part, information about the geography of Iraq, the Turkmens in the Iraqi Geography and the history of the regions they live in is given. In addition, while talking about who the Turkmen living in the region are and where they came from, the cultures of the Turkmens and the features of the language and dialect they speak are also mentioned. The second part of the study is composed of morphology and construction suffixes that form the basis of the study. In this section, the dialect characteristics of the Turkmens of Kirkuk, Erbil, Telafer and Tuzhurmatu cities have been evaluated comparatively by taking into account the construction affixes, through the written sources used and the texts that have been compiled and converted into written format. In this section, under the heading of morphology, the production and derivational morphology of Kirkuk, Erbil, Telafer and Tuzhurmatu Turkmen dialects has been studied. The basic functions of the affixes given in the chapter are explained with examples. In the third part of the study, the types of words used in these dialects are given considering the dialect characteristics of the Turkmens of Kirkuk, Erbil, Talafer and Tuzhurmatu. In the conclusion part, the differences that emerged in terms of the morphological features of Turkey Turkish in the comparisons made by considering the dialect characteristics of the Turkmens of Kirkuk, Erbil, Talafer and Tuzhurmatu are given as determinations. In the Texts and Poems section, the speeches of the Turkmens living in the cities of Kirkuk, Erbil, Talafer and Tuzhurmatu were recorded, these recordings were meticulously analyzed and the sound was determined, and then the speeches were transferred to the written text with the transcription method. In addition, the studies of researchers who produced works related to the region were also used. The last part of the thesis is the Dictionary. This dictionary was created from the texts compiled in order to reveal the dialect characteristics of the Turkmen living in the cities of Kirkuk, Erbil, Telafer and Tuzhurmatu and the characteristics of the words and suffixes they use.
