Book of Koroglu (211v-235v) (Textual analysis, transcribed text and index)

In this thesis, the pages between 211v and 235v of the Book of Koroghlu (Kitab-ı Köroğlu), which was written in Chaghatay Turkic, was studied. The author of the Book of Koroghlu is unknown. This book was scribed by Mirza Halil Yuzbasiyev Karabagi in 1936-1937. The Book of Koroghlu is found in Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Muhammed Fuzuli Institute of Manuscripts. This book pertains to the last period of Chaghatay Turkic language. It demonstrates other Turkic dialects' properties, as well. There are four main topics in the study: introduction, textual analysis, transcribed text and index. In the introduction; some infomation was given about epope genre and the epic of Koroghlu was particularly described. In addition, the book was introduced and the part between 211v and 235v of the Book of Koroghlu was summarized. In the textual analysis, phonetic and morphological features of the text was examined. In the transcribed text chapter, the text was transcribed from Arabic alphabet into Roman alphabet. In the last chapter, the index and glossary of the text have been given.
