Advices as an attitude of expression in conversational genres

Genre oriented studies and research aproaches domitated Folkloristics since 1812 which is one of the official startting date of the discipline. The discipline of Turkish Folklore also has exactly the same situation. It is genre oriented since its started in 1913. However genre oriented studies do not let to work on ?folk ideas? which are the essential base of folk philosophy that is the real goal of folklore studies. Genre oriented studies make impossible to work on folk ideas because its concept of genre based on the ?ideal type of genre?. The concept of ?ideal type of genre? do not care examples of a genre which do not fix the academic descriptions. In this context this study is one of the first attemp to analyse the conversational genres which are used and collected in Turkish actual socio-cultural contexts according to attitute of advice. In other words, the purpose of this study is to make a folkloristic description of Turkish advices as an attitude of expression which is the goal orientation of many conversational genres like proverbs, legends, memorates, tales, anectods, stories and personel narratives. The characteristic features of conversational genres which produced by traditional Turkish advices as an attitude of expression is evaluated by their thematic, structural, functional and contextual characteristics with a special attention was given their relationship with social values.Key Words: Verbal Advices, Traditional Attitude of Exressions, Conversational Genres, Turkish Folk Literature
