Investigation of FEAR of coronavirus, physical activity level and compliance with home program in physically handicapped individuals who came or did not come to the special education and rehabilitation center during the coronavirus pandemic period

The coronovirus pandemic process has caused a different lifestyle all over the world. In this process, there has been an increase in the time spent at home. The aim of our study is to examine the relationship between the fear of coronavirus, physical activity level and compliance with the home program in physically disabled individuals who come and do not come to the Special Education and Rehabilitation Center during the coronavirus pandemic period. Our study consisted of physically disabled individuals who came to the center (n=30) and who did not (n=30) to the center. The mean age of the individuals who came and did not come was were 14.06±3.4 and 14.03±2.7 years, respectively. When examined in terms of gender distribution, the present group consisted of 20 boys (33.3%), 10 girls (16.7%) and the non-admitted group consisted of 16 boys (26.7%) and 14 girls (23.3%). Children's participation in physical activity with "CEFABA 1-8, CEFABA 9-11", their physical activity levels for the they last 3 months with the "Cooper questionnaire", the "Coronovirus (COVID-19) Fear Scale" to evaluate their fear level of coronavirus, their compliance with the home program Evaluated with the "Home Program Compliance Questionnaire".The Coronavirus Fear Scale score of the individuals who did not come to the center, CEEFABA 1-8, CEFABA 9-11 score and Cooper Questionnaire scores were higher than the average score individuals who came (p<0.05). The Home Program Compliance Questionnaire score of the individuals who came to the center was higher than the average score of the individuals who did not come (p<0.001). It was observed that there was no relationship between fear of coronavirus, physical activity level and compliance with the home program in individuals who came and did not attend the center (p<0.05). It was concluded that individuals who did not attend special education during the coronavirus pandemic process had a higher level of fear of coronavirus than those who continued, and the compliance of those who continued with the home program was higher than those who did not continue. It was concluded that there was no relationship between physical activity participation and physically activity levels of physically disabled individuals who attended and did not attend special education during the coronavirus pandemic period.
