Abstract (EN)

In this study the problem-solving skills of high school teachers and their burnout levels and the relationship between these has been put in place.A sample of 258 teachers, who have been kept going education in high schools in Zeytinburnu, İstanbul, have developed the population of the study.The evidence that belongs to high school teachers? burnout levels and problem solving abilities has been obtained by means of the questionnaire.The Personal Information Form developed by the researcher, Maslach Burnout Inventory by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and Problem Solving Inventory developed by P.P. Heppner and C. H. Petersen (1982) were used as a measuring tool. The results of the applied questionnaire were analysed by using percentage and frequency values, t-test results, variant analysis with one factor and Sheffe-F test.According to the obtained evidence, high schools teachers? burnout situation change according to their genders, ages, marital status, seniorities, education levels, average students in the classes, weekly lesson hours, to be appreciated by their administrators, adoption to their management style, and also their branches and whether they are satisfied or not where they work.As a result, it is understood that high schools teachers do not have a burnout situation at high levels, but perceptions on problem solving abilities are high. Additionally, it can be expressed that increasing high school teachers? problem solving abilities decreases burnout on their personal achievement.Key Words: Burnout, Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, Personal Accomplishment, Problem, Problem Solving.
