M.1669-1672 / h.1080-1082 Harput Shar'iyyah Record dated text evaluation

Records of Cadi's office is one of the most important source of Ottoman history. Şeriyye Registers are one of the important resources in terms of revealing our lifestyles and conditions in the past centuries and enlightening our national history in relation to social, economic, commercial, local, military and politic terms. The registers include considerable information about social, religious and commercial etc. lives of the minorities that live within the boundaries of Ottoman Empire as well. Since these registers were kept following an event it is a pretty weak possibility that they include any information contrary to facts.Because of these dependable aspects , they consist of much valuable information in respect of the relations between Moslem and Non-moslem citizens in Ottoman Empire. İn this study I made summary of records of Cadi's office between 1669-1672 and mentioned their importance from the point of view of history. Key Words: Harput, Kadi, Court Record, Şhar'iyyah Record
