Abstract (EN)

In this study, some physical and chemical properties of soils under different land use patterns (forest, pasture and agriculture) were investigated in Kargınışıklar and Hoşçalar Villages of Manisa Province Demirci District. In the thesis; first of all, land use maps and 1/25000 scale topographic maps produced within the scope of various projects were taken into consideration and areas suitable for fieldwork were determined. According to random sampling method, 40 each (120 total) soil samples were taken from 0-30 cm to 30-60 cm depth levels from the areas belonging to each land use group (forest, pasture and agricultural land). Physical properties (soil texture, bulk density, dispersion rate) and chemical (organic matter, lime content, pH, EC, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium) soil properties were investigated in soil samples. Although the physical and chemical properties of soils do not show a significant difference according to the land use patterns, they vary depending on the depth levels. Textures of all three land use types (forest, agriculture and pasture) are also determined as texturized sandy loam. When the chemical properties of soils are examined, the soil in terms of pH shows neutral properties for every depth. When EC values are considered, soils are classified as salt free in all 3 groups. In terms of lime ratio, soils are less lime. Organic matter of soils decreases as depth increases. In addition, as the organic matter increases, the bulk density decreases have been determined. It was determined that soil dispersion rates were higher than 15 in all three groups, they were sensitive to erosion. As a result, after the properties of the soils are determined in order to protect the natural resources, they should be used in accordance with the basin management principles and ability.
