Abstract (EN)
Purpose: It is aimed in this research that effects of nursing care based on Meleis's Theory of Transition on Adaptation of Women to Motherhood and their Perception of New-born Infant shall be determined. Method: This research was carried out between October 2019 and August 2022 as a randomized controlled experiment in a pretest posttest control group. In the study, a total of 79 pregnant women, 26 experimental and 53 control, who were followed up and followed up in seven family health centers in Aydın City Center and determined by simple random method, were included in the sample.Pregnant women in the experimental group were given seven-session transition to motherhood training based on Meleis' Transition Theory, and pregnancy, puerperal and newborn follow-ups were carried out. The pregnant women in the control group received routine care and follow-up. The data of the study were collected with Introductory Information Form, Prenatal Self-Assessment Scale, Postpartum Self-Assessment Scale and Newborn Perception Scale. The data of the study were analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences Version 25 (PASW Inc, Chicago, IL, USA) program and the experimental and control groups were compared in terms of the variables of the study. In the evaluation of the data; descriptive statistical analyzes were used. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk tests were used to evaluate the normal distribution. Student t test, Paired Samples test, Pearson Chi-square test were used to compare normally distributed data. Mann Whitney U, Wilcoxon test was used to compare non-normal distribution data. Ethics committee permission, institutional permission, scale usage permission and participant written consent were obtained for the research. Results: In the study, in the 28th week measurement of the Prenatal Self-Assessment Scale, it was found that the Experimental Group's Relationship with Spouse Sub-Scale Scores of the women in the experimental group were lower than the control group. In the 34th week measurement, it was found that the Pregnancy Subscale Scores of the women in the experimental group were lower than the control group (p<0.05). Postpartum Self-Evaluation Scale Total, Quality of the Relationship Between Spouses, Partners' Perspectives on Participation in Baby Care, Support of Family and Friends for Motherhood Subscale scores of the women in the experimental group were founded lower than the control group at the 1st month postpartum (p<0,05). Postpartum Self-Evaluation Scale Total, Partners' Views on Participation in Baby Care , Coping with Maternal Tasks Confidence in Power, Satisfaction with Motherhood and Newborn Care Subscale scores of the women in the experimental group were founded lower than the control group at the 4th month postpartum(p<0,05). It was determined that 34% of women in the control group and 11.5% of women in the experimental group perceived their babies negatively (p<0.05). The second application scores of the Ready for Delivery Subscale of the women in the experimental and control groups were found to be lower than the first application scores. The first application scores of the Family and Friends Support for Motherhood Subscale of the women in the experimental group were found to be lower than the second application scores. It was found that the second application score of the Satisfaction with Birth Experience Subscale of the women in the control group was lower than the first application score (p<0.05). Conclusion: It has been concluded that nursing care based on the meleisin transition theory increases the adaptation of women to the prenatal and postpartum period. It is recommended that our education and practices be integrated into routine antenatal care in order to positively develop adaptation to pregnancy, puerperium adaptation and perception of the newborn, which are important in terms of maternal and child health services.
