Economical relations between Egypt Asia minor during Mamluk period

The subject of this study is economical relation between Turkey and Egypt during the Mamluk Period. After an introduction to the subject, the study is divided in three chapters. At the end a summary is made, some supplements are added In the introduction, we stressed the importance of economical activities and it's relation with history. Meanwhile, a glance is made to the Islamic rules and regulations, which affected and manipulated commercial relations. Also, the economical mentality of the Islamic people during the medieval ages is pointed out. The first chapter is concerned with the economical situation both of Turkey and Egypt in the Mamluk Period. The geographical position of both countries, which effected economic, agricultural and commercial activities of both countries, is also dealt with. The commercial agreements between Muslim authorities and European states are also focused. The wars, which continued throughout the Mamluk Period and effected the economical relations and the factors supported or interrupted the relations of two countries, are also studied. The second chapter is devoted to the study of substructures of economical activities in this period. Such as commercial centres, economical centres, merchants, roads (means of transport), money and different currencies which were used in the commercial transactions, customs and custom control and so on. The third chapter is concerned with economical relations between Egypt and Turkey, the change of goods between Egypt to Turkey and vice versa. This chapter also dealt with the collapse of the Mamluk State.179 In conclusion, the study of economical relations between Egypt and Turkey during Mamluk Period led to us some facts. Our study proved that this motherland of medieval ages was attractive due to economical activities, in spite of continuo wars, which caused the destruction of Middle East countries. The economical destruction continued till the end of Mamluk State.
