Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the rate of crime in childhood period has increased steadily. Although it is an undesired situation that using the concepts of child and crime together, sometimes children are dragged to crime owing to the influence of family or peer groups. It is important to determine the reasons for pushing children to crime in early stages of their life in terms of reducing the juvenile delinquency rate. Especially, in studies on individuals who commit the crime as a professional, the majority of becoming repetitive criminal processes are based on risks factors that belong to childhood. In this study, repeated juvenile delinquency is dealt with in the province of Bitlis. Within the scope of the study, face to face interviews were conducted with 61 children who had a crime file in the Bitlis Provisional Self-Defense Unit between 2016-2017, TUİK data related to juvenile delinquency were used and a one-person questionnaire form was applied to the mentioned children. Hypotheses were established on criminal histories, family, and peer factors of children who have been dragged to crime. The sample group consists of boys aged between 5 and 18 years old. The obtained data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program. Inferential statistics methods were used to evaluate the data. As a result, the factors pushing the child to crime, such as education level, parent's educational status, attitudes towards the child, harmful substance habits of the child's friend environment, the presence of criminals in the immediate vicinity, and socio-economic status of the family, were assessed.
