Abstract (EN)
In this study, two new mixed ligand based silver(I)-tolfenamic acid including picoline derivatives, devised as [Ag2(tolf)2(2-pic)2] 1 and [Ag2(tolf)2(4-pic)2] 2 (tolf = tolfenamato, 2-pic = 2-picoline, 4-pic = 4-picoline) have been synthesized and identified by elemental analysis, FT-IR, thermal analysis. The structure of 1 was clarified with single-crystal X-ray diffraction while 2 was obtained in a powder form. The data clearly indicated that the silver(I) ion is coordinated to one 2-pic, two tolf ligands and other silver(I) ion demonstrating a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The deprotonated tolfenamato ligands act as a bridging bidentate ligands. The chains are further stabilized by the intramolecular Ag(I)⋯π and π···π interactions. The FT-IR analysis revealed that the structure of complex 1 and 2 might have a similar molecular structure. The thermogravimetric analysis displayed the presence of coordinated picoline and tolfenamato ligands in the coordination sphere. the Antiproliferative activities of the synthesized complexes were tested against human-derived breast cancer MCF-7 and MDA-MB-453 cell lines by XTT assay in vitro. The results showed that both complexes decreased the proliferation of both cell lines in a dose dependent manner. Complex 2 showed more antiproliferative activity than complex 1 against the tested cell lines. Moreover, both complexes were observed to exhibit istatistically much more antiproliferative activity with their lower IC50 values than carboplatin and 5-Fluorouracil, which are used as chemotherapeutic agents in breast cancer therapy.
