Nurses' knowledge about giving chemotherapy to cancer patients in Al-Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital

The nurse has played a significant part in the care of cancer patients and survivors throughout the course of human history. In addition to physical exams and treatment of the patient's symptoms, these treatments often included counseling and education on the disease's symptoms. Oncology nurses are responsible for giving chemotherapy to cancer patients.The study's goal is to evaluate the knowledge of oncology nurses in Al-Diwaniyah city on safe chemotherapy administration. Descriptive research was carried out from February 15th to May 15th of 2022 An outlandish case study (appropriate example). The sample was chosen by the use of sampling. One hundred and ten oncology nurses from Al-Diwaniyah city are included in the study. A questionnaire was devised for the study's purposes. In this study, participants self-administered the survey instruments. The data was gathered between the dates of February 15th, 2022, and March 1st, 2022 for this study. The SPSS program version was used to examine the data.The results showed that 49% of the participants were between the ages of 24 and 29; 56.9% were men; 65.1% had earned a nursing diploma; 37.6% had 1 to 6 years of experience; and 50.5% had no training sessions. According to the findings of the study, nurses' knowledge of safe chemotherapy delivery and general information on chemotherapy drugs was lacking.
