Abstract (EN)

The importance of job in an individual's life is indisputable facts in terms of both covering the importance and time. Similarly, the employee is the important element for the business in terms of the most important factor affecting the prevalence, the success and the failure of a company. In this study, the concept of job satisfaction and the perception of business ethics which are the extremely important terms for employees and business were analyzed in terms of demographic variables. The main aim of the study is to investigate the factors contributing to the satisfaction of the public and private university academician, search for influential factors like the perception of the business ethics and demographic variables and also determine the relationship between ethical perceptions and job satisfaction among public and private university academicians. The present study find out and compare such difference between business ethicsand job satisfaction of public and private university academician through different dimension. In this context, it used a sample of 521academicians of the state and private universities in Southeastern and Mediterranean region. Business ethics was measured by Occupational Work Ethic Inventory (OWEI) (Petty, 1995) and job satisfaction levels were measured by the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ ) (Weiss vd., 1967). Emprical results show that there is positive but low significant correlation between overall occupational work ethics and inner satisfaction, external and overal job satisfaction. At the same time, there is a positive relationship between overall job satisfaction and administrative position, one of the demographics characteristics. The academicians' being initiative, negative characteritics and the overal business ethics undifferentiated according to the working in state or private universities. But the academicians' being dependable and interpersonal skills differentiated according to the working in state or private universities. Academicians' inner satisfaction, external satisfaction and overall job satisfaction differentiated according to the working in state or private universities. The factor of being dependable, being initiative and administrative position which is one of the demographic characteristics significantly affect overall job satisfaction. But, the factor of interpersonal skills, negative characteristics and demographic characteristics of sex, marital status, education level or working in state/private universities significantly does'nt affect overall job satisfaction.
