The effect of İmam Mâturîdî's Ta'wîlâtu'l-Kur'ân on Umar al-Nasefî's commentary called al-Taysîr

Omar al-Nasefī's tafsir called al-Taysīr fi al-tafsīr is a very important work both in the Hanafī-Māturīdī tradition and in the tafsir literature. In this tafsir, al-Nasafī compiled the views of the scholars before him and transmitted them regularly, and he also made important contributions and influenced the later commentators to a great extent. al-Nasafī, who especially reflected the Hanafī-Māturīdī thought system in his commentary, had an important place in transferring this tradition to the next ones. While writing his al-Taysīr, he benefited from many sources. The main source that he most frequently quoted and influenced by his views is al-Māturīdī's al-Ta'wīlāt al-Qur'ān. al-Nasefī, who has about 600 transmissions from al-Ta'wīlāt, is mainly related to kalam and fiqh, but there are also transmissions on different issues. In this thesis, it is determined on which subjects, how and how often al-Nasefī uses al-Ta'wīlāt as a source. In order to make the determination in question, both interpretations were compared. However, due to the voluminous works of al-Ta'wīlāt and al-Taysīr, the comparison to be made is limited within the framework of the al-Fatiha and al-Bakara surahs.
