Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the Patient- Specific Functional Scale (PSFS) and shoulder functions in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation program applied to patients with shoulder problems. Volunteers with shoulder problems between the ages of 18-65 were included in our study. The first evaluation was made before the treatment. In this evaluation, shoulder range of motion (ROM) was evaluated with universal goniometer, resting, activity and night pain was evaluated with numerical pain rating scale (NPRS), and functional limitation was evaluated with Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand Questionnaire (DASH) and Upper Extremity Functional Index (UEFI). In addition, PSFS was applied, which the patient determined the three activities with limitation. The first assessment of the patients was made before starting treatment. After 30 sessions of individual treatment, measurements were repeated. The average age of the patients who participated in our study was 52.31 ± 6.71, and 27 of the patients were women and 9 were men. Significant differences were obtained between the first and second measurement evaluation results of patients with ROM, pain and functional scales (p <0.05). In our study there was the weak to moderate correlation between the first measurement PSFS and shoulder ROM values (rho=0.337 - 0.420; p <0.05), a negative medium correlation between PSFS and DASH (rho=-0.514; p <0.001) and a medium correlation between PSFS and UEFI (rho=0.489; p <0.05). In the second measurement there was a moderate to good correlation between PSFS and shoulder ROM values (rho=0.546 - 0.602; p <0.001), a negative moderate correlation between PSFS and pain in activity (rho=-0.446; p <0.05), a negative good correlation between PSFS and DASH (rho=-0.794; p <0.001), good correlation between PSFS and UEFI (rho=0.750; p <0.001). In our study, it was observed that the functions of the patient increased as pain decreased and ROM increased in patients with shoulder problems. It was observed that PSFS, which evaluates the patient's individual limitations in patients with shoulder problems, can be applied practically and in a short time, is related to shoulder functions and DASH and UEFI used in shoulder problems. It has been concluded that further studies should be done in different diagnosed shoulder problems.
