Abstract (EN)
The aim of the current thesis is to determine the mediating role of decision-making styles in the relationship between organizational culture and the organizational commitment of employees in Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports. In this context, a total of 933 data were obtained via face-to-face (540) and online surveys through Google Forms (393) among employees working in the Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports in Turkey to create the research sample. Data from 31 participants who did not participate in the study voluntarily and had missing data were not used in the analysis. Statistical package programs were used to perform normality, multicollinearity, outlier, reliability, correlation, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses and to test the research problems. According to the research results, organizational culture directly affects organizational commitment in a positive way. On the other hand, organizational culture negatively affects decision-making styles. Moreover, decision-making styles negatively affect organizational commitment. Finally, it has been determined that decision-making styles have a partial mediator role in the relationship between organizational culture and organizational commitment. Accordingly, it was concluded that organizational culture has an indirect positive effect on organizational commitment through decision-making styles, which is significant. Recommendations were given to policymakers and managers by stating the issues that should be adopted and taken into consideration to increase organizational commitment. Moreover, suggestions were made to researchers about some variables and points that should be focused on regarding organizational culture and organizational commitment.
