Abstract (EN)

Using the relational screening model, the present study aims to investigate the impact of organizational culture perception of high-school teachers upon alienation to work. The population of the study consists of 525 teachers working in 20 high-school teachers between 2015 and 2016 in the centre of Siirt, Turkey. No sampling method could be formed due to the small number of the teachers working in the high-schools where the study was carried out. Furthermore, only 378 of the 406 scales provided were found eligible for analysis. This study used both the "Organizational Culture Scale" developed by Terzi (2005) to reveal the cultural structure in schools, and "TheAlienation Scale"developed by Elma (2003) to determine the alienation levels of teachers to work. The IBM SPSS 21 and the R-Project package were used in analysing the data obtained, during which reliability analysis, frequency tables, free-sampling t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation andPath analysis were all used. The normality assumptions of the analyses were also tested by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The Levene test was used for homogeneity of the variants. The test results were interpreted at the levels of α=0.01 or α=0.05. While no differences could be found for the organizational culture perception of the teachers regarding gender, education level, length of service and marital status, there was a difference of statistical significance at the lower bureaucratic culture dimension regarding age. Likewise, no significant differences were found for alienation to work in the teachers regarding their education level, length of service, marital status and age. However, there was a significant difference between them regarding their gender at the sub-dimensions of meaninglessness and isolatedness. Moreover, a significant relationship of negative level was found between the organizational culture perception and alienation to work in the teachers. Our analyses revealed that the organizational culture is a predictor of alienation to work. However, dimensions of the organizational culture do not have a predictive impact on alienation to school. On the other hand, the support culture does not appear to help predict alienation. Key Words: Organization, Culture, Organizational Culture, Alienation.
