Effects of management of discipline and reward in secondary schools to teacher and student motivation : Bakırköy example

This study was done to identify the objective of the effects of applied award and punishment regulation on their motivations for the teachers and students.50 teachers and 225 students have formed this study's sample survey. The study was modeled by descriptive method and relationally scanning method. The data that obtained by the means of the survey applied to the teachers and students have been analysed by the help of SPSS 16.0 programme. At the end of the research it is seen that the reward and punishment regulation that has been applied on the teachers and students has positive effects. Concerning the teachers' views, it is observed that the gender, age, professional seniority and majority do not differ whereas the teachers' motivations do not differ by the gender, professional seniority and majority about the regulation. In the research, it is observed that the teachers' motivations based on the age, the 26-35 and 46 and over aged groups' motivations are higher than the 36-45 aged groups' motivations.
