Investigation of the connection between plasma apelin level and cases of preeklampsia

The widespread presence of apelin and its APJ receptor in brain areas such as the supraoptic nucleus (SON) and paraventricular nucleus (PVN), testis and ovary tissues of humans, mice and rats suggested that apelin may have effects on the reproductive system and that some reproductive processes may be regulated by apelin and its receptor APJ. In studies on humans, fetal and placental apelin concentration was found to be high. In the light of these studies, this study was shaped in line with the effect of Apelin 13 protein in preeclamptic cases defined as the development of hypertension with proteinuria after the 20th week of pregnancy, which progresses with fluid-electrolyte balance disorder due to high blood pressure, and it is aimed to prevent premature and stillbirth events.
