Retrospective analysis of sociodemographic and psychopathological data of children and adolescents WHO have a psycho-legal assessment

In the sixth article of the Turkish Penal Code, the child is defined as "the person who has not yet completed the age of eighteen", and in the third article of the Child Protection Law (CPL), "the person who has not completed the age of eighteen, even at an earlier age". Many rights of children were secured with the CPL numbered 5395, which came into force in 2005, and the role of child and adolescent mental health and illnesses (CAMHI) professionals, who were consulted by the judicial authorities during the implementation of the law, became more important. In this context, it is the duty of CAMHI specialists to determine whether children are intuitive in terms of criminal law, to determine the degree of harm (abuse or neglect, mental trauma after the accident) if they are victims of crime and the spiritual requirements and requirements to protect them in terms of civil law. In this study, the records of children who were admitted to the Criminal Committee of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases Department of Bursa Uludag University between January 1, 2019 and June 15, 2020, and children who were victims of crime were reviewed retrospectively; sociodemographic, clinical, psychometric and psycho-legal evaluations of cases have been examined. Before evaluating all these judicial processes, the aim should be to identify the family, environment and child risk factors and to protect children and adolescents through interventions in order to prevent children and adolescents from being dragged into crime or to protect them from being victims of a crime.
