Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine Early Maladaptive Schemas, psychological symptoms, quality of life, severity of the disease, loss of function, stress coping styles and emotion regulation difficulties in psoriasis patients. The participants of the study consisted of 207 people aged 25 to 45, 100 psoriasis patients and 107 people as controls without skin disease, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study and met the criteria for participation. As a result of the analyses, it was found that Emotional Withdrawal, Approval Seeking, Pessimism, Self-Sacrifice, Punishment and High Standards schemes from Early maladaptive Schemas differed statistically and significantly in favor of the participants in the psoriasis diagnosed group compared to the control group. It was found that the areas of openness and non-acceptance of emotion regulation difficulties differed statistically and significantly in favor of those in the diagnosed group compared to the control group. It was determined that the styles of coping with stress, resorting to seeking social support, and problem-oriented coping differed statistically significantly in favor of participants who were in the control group. It has been found that pessimism and punishment schemes significantly predict the overall symptom in psychological symptoms, and emotion-oriented coping with stress with the impulse sub-dimension of emotion regulation difficulty is also a significant predictor of overall symptoms. It has been observed that Early Maladaptive Schemes have a significant predictive effect on emotion regulation difficulties, emotion-oriented coping with stress, and psoriasis function loss; emotion-oriented coping with stress has a significant predictive effect on psoriasis quality of life and psoriasis area severity.
