Abstract (EN)
Basically, this thesis explains the role of Iraq in the European and Middle Eastern politics in historical process. In this process, the roles of Turkey and Britain, which ruled and had effect Iraq for years, are so important. That is why; Iraq?s situation was handled under the circumstances of Turkey and Britain?s effectiveness on Iraq. On the other hand, the effects of the Ottoman Empire and Britain on Iraq in historical process were handled. On the road, which comes to the present of Iraq, the level of Turkey and Britain?s relations increased in the 20th century and created the current situation of Iraq. So, thesis concerns the previous history of the First World War, war years, the Cold War after the Second War and period, which comes to present. At the same time, the domestic political struggles in Iraq after the First and Second World War are also in the scope of this thesis. In all these terms, thesis tried to explain Turkey?s domestic political situation, Britain?s viewpoints on the Europe, Turkey and Iraq with the end of this process. Except Iraq, Britain and Turkey, the situations of the European states, which assumed important roles and the US, were tried to be explained. In the issue that was related Iraq, especially Musoul-Kirkuk matter and Lozan Peace Treaty are extremely important; the struggle of Turkey and Britain on Musoul-Kirkuk matter is concerned in this thesis. In the scope of thesis, historical viewpoints of Turkey and Britain on Iraq and their claims on Musoul-Kirkuk matter represent an important part of this thesis. Finally, Iraq?s situation after the American intervention in 2003 and its today and future are in this working as a discussing issue.Keywords; Iraq, Turkey, Britain, politics, struggle.
