Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the grotesque features of Ronald Topor, one of the authors of French theater, in theater plays. At the beginning of the work, the techniques of using the grotesque concept are mentioned, taking into consideration Topor's view of life, works, theater and the world. In order to be able to define the Grotesque concept, it was based on Mikhail Bakhtin's book Carnivalan Romana and Wolfgang Kayser's The Grotesque in Art and Literature. Grotesque properties and functions were determined and theoretical expression was formed. The grotesque use of Topor in theater works, mainly "Joco's Birthday" and "Under the Table" games, was examined and compared with similar grotesque examples.
