Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to reveal the situation of Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, fought between the Tsardom of Russia and the Ottoman Empire, in Russian resources. In general terms, the wars between the Ottoman Empire and the Tsardom of Russia were briefly mentioned and the main issue was tried to be discussed in detail. Firstly, the resources were searched, translations were made on the appropriate sources and the acquisitions were studied. The 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish War was a war between the Ottoman Empire and the Tsardom of Russia, which lasted about a year and led to many political developments and changes in the Balkans. It was also named "The '93 War", referring to the interpretaton of the date in Rumi Calendar. As a result of the rebellions that started in the Balkans with the weakening of the Ottomans, the Tsarist Russia, which had robbed the patronage of the Slavic peoples in this region, announced to the European countries that they had decided to fight against the Ottoman Empire on April 19, 1877; under the pretext of ending the Ottoman existence in this geography, reinforcing its ties with the Slavic brothers and saving these peoples from the Ottoman yoke. They then declared war on the Ottoman Empire on April 24, 1877. The 1977-1878 Ottoman Russian War took place on the Danube and Caucasian fronts and lasted about a year. The war ended in favor of the Russians, and was a serious loss for the Ottoman Empire. On March 3, 1878, with the Treaty of Ayastefanos, the Ottoman rule in the Balkans came to an end and new countries along with new borders were drawn. As a result, the reflections of this war in the Tsardom of Russia and the Ottoman Empire were tried to be evaluated.
