Abstract (EN)
INTRODUCTION: In recent years, vitamin D functions and platelet parameters have become very popular. The effect of D vitamin levels on platelet parameters is controversial. There are few published studies on the relationship between vitamin D levels and mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), platelet lymphocyte ratio (TLO) and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLO). The purpose of our study was to determine the relationship between the platelet parameters of vitamin D levels. METHODS: We examined the vitamin D and blood count examinations of our patients who were admitted to our family medicine clinics with complaints such as fatigue between 01.01.2016 - 31.08.2016. The subjects between 18-28 years of age were included in the study. The medical history of the involved individuals does not include any chronic illness, drug or pregnancy. 877 patients were identified according to the criteria, and patients were divided into 3 groups according to their vitamin D levels. Five of the patients had vitamin D levels above 150 ng/mL and were separeted from study. Patients with D vitamine groups were divided into 30-150 ng/mL, 20-30 ng/mL and 20 ng/mL. 114 people in the first group, 111 people in the second group and 647 people in the third group. However, statistically, the third group was selected to study at random from the third group because it included many people than the other groups. For the analysis of the data, SPSS 20.0 package program was used. RESULTS: No statistically significant difference was found in terms of D vitamine groups, MPV, PDW, TLO and NLO (p = 0,112, p = 0,236, p = 0,223 and p = 0,249). CONCLUSION: The effect of vitamin D level on MPV, PDW, TLO and NLO parameters was not detected in our study. But the number of studies on this subject is very small. Larger groups and prospective cohort studies are needed. KEYWORDS: Vitamin D, Thrombocyte parameters
