Sarakhsi's understanding of hadith, sunnah and textual criticism

The Hanafi school's approach to hadith has been the subject of controversy since the time of Abu Hanifa. The methods of Hanafi scholars, which differ from the methods of Hadith scholars in many respects, have also caused serious accusations to come to their side from time to time. Some of the conditions brought by Hanafi scholars in the acceptance of khabar-i wahid, especially the spiritual discontinuity condition, which is related to the content of the hadith, are some of the things that differ from the method of hadith scholars. While hadith scholars conduct their criticism activities mostly on the isnad of the hadith, Hanafi scholars, also known as Ahl-i rey, have focused not only to the hadith's isnad but also to the text of the hadith and have paid attention to its compatibility with the basic sources of the religion. This approach was later called the method of supply and became the most basic feature that distinguishes Hanafits from the approach of Ahl al-Hadith. In Mabsût, Serahsi dealt with the cases in which many khabar-i wahids are opposed to stronger evidence than themselves. As a result of our research, it has been seen that the number of such hadiths subjected to textual criticism is more than 200. Since it would be beyond our power to evaluate so many hadiths, we examined a total of 40 hadiths by giving 5 examples on each subject.
