Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of cerebral lateralization on simple visual and auditory reaction time and reaction asymmetry. For this purpose, 52 male individuals voluntarily participated in the study. After the lateralization test was applied to the subjects, the subjects were divided into three groups and then the reaction time tests were applied to the subjects to determine the effect of lateralization on the reaction time between the groups. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS 22.0 program. After testing for normality and homogeneity, one-way analysis of variance and LSD correction were performed. When the results obtained were examined, it was observed that hand preference had no statistical effect on visual and auditory simple reaction time and reaction asymmetry (p>0.05). However, although it was not statistically significant, a decrease in reaction time was noticed in favor of left-handed individuals. As a result, the effects of laterization did not have a statistical effect on visual and auditory simple reaction time, no matter which hand it was measured from; however, it can be said that the reaction time of left-handed individuals is significantly lower than that of right-handed individuals. Although this result is not statistically significant, it is thought that it is important that a significant difference has been detected.
