Image of woman in the stories and poetries of Sezai Karakoç

However Sezai Karakoç is considered from the poets of "İkinci Yeni", he can be distinguished from the other poets of this group with his Islamist-Conservative identity. Karakoç regarding his poem "My interest to Ikınci Yeni is to write in the same era with them and probably to have some common points in terms of shape" (by Karataş, 2019: 228) by declaring that he spares himself from this movement. Another difference can be noticed as well by the image of woman in his poetries. Woman cannot be as a "sexual object" in his poetries in opposition to other poets of İkinci Yeni. Woman is generally described in his poems as "mother, ideal woman, lover who assures to reach from metaphorical love to divine love (Leyla), woman struggling with difficulties, woman supporting her husband whos has the inage of faithful and strong Anatolian woman. Woman has the most important role in the family, especially regaridng the bringing kids up in the idea of ressurrection. Conversely, modern woman is imaged negative who lost the motherhood and who want to imitate man. In this study, it is aimed to determine "the images of woman" in the poems and stories of Sezai Karakoç. Thus the study is divised to three parts. In order to comprehend the author better, his life and his art will be described shortly in first part. In second part, the image of woman will be determined by taking reference to his book called "Gün Doğmadan" in which all his poems has been gathered together. And finally, in third part, the image of woman will be determined from his two story book called.
