Evaluation of classroom teachers' opinions on recreation activities and the frequency of participation in recreation activities (Diyarbakır province example)

The main purpose of this research was to evaluate some demographic information of primary school teachers working in Diyarbakır, their Opinions on Recreation Activities and the Frequency of Participation in Recreation Activities. Survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample of the study consisted of 505 classroom teachers working actively in Diyarbakır province in the 2022-2023 academic year. These teachers consist of 349 female and 156 male teachers. In order to obtain the data in the study, the personal information form prepared by the researcher, the Recreation Benefit Scale, and the Frequency of Participation in Recreational Activities Scale were used. In order to compare the views of the participants on recreational activities, the frequency of participation in recreational activities in terms of demographic variables, and the change of research data according to groups, independent samples t-test and ANOVA analysis were used. The relationship between the variables was examined by Pearson correlation analysis. According to the results of the analysis, 'Recreation Benefit Scale-RFI' and 'Frequency of Participation in Recreation Activities Scale' in all sub-dimensions for Classroom Teachers; gender, marital status, age status, professional experience, income status and regular physical activity were found to be statistically significantly higher. When the t-test was examined according to the variable of taking administrative duties, no statistically significant difference was found in terms of the total score and sub-dimensions of RSS. When the t-test was examined according to the variable of taking administrative duties of the teachers, no significant difference was found between the mean score of Participation in Recreation Activities.
