Abstract (EN)

Objective: While there is a positive relationship between borderline personality disorder and impulsivity (Chapman et al., 2010), eating habits in this personality disorder were also found to be adversely affected (Swann et al., 2013). However, research has also been found to reveal the relationship between impulsivity and eating attitudes (Hudson et al., 2007). From the findings in the literature, the role of mediating impulsivity between borderline personality traits and eating attitudes was investigated in this study. Method: 150 female university students participated in the research. To measure variables; Brief Symptom Inventory, Barratt Impulsivity Scale, Borderline Personality Inventory and Eating Attitude Scale were used. Results: It was found that there was a significant positive correlation between border personality and eating attitudes according to the results of the research. In addition, it was found that there was a significant positive relationship between borderline personality and impulsivity. When borderline personality was controlled, it was found that the impulsivity did not predict eating attitudes. Conclusion: According to the results of our study, border personality, impulsivity and borderline personality eating habits were found, and the mediating role of impulsivity was not determined. Briefly; the relationship between borderline personality and eating attitudes does not explain the impulsivity levels of individuals. The results of the research have been discussed in the light of the relevant literature. Key words: Borderline personality, eating attitudes, impulsivity, psychopathology
