Sonay GÜÇRAY July, 1999, 78 Pages The aim of this research is to become true the validity and reliability study of Social Skill Inventory-SSI. At the adaptation study, the scale adapted by Yüksel (1997a) applied 821 students going to primary school at 8. class and 9. class. The factor analysis for the structure validity of scale, the test re-test method for the reliability of scale, reliability and item analysis applied on the data that obtained from adolescence. At the factor analysis applied for testing the validity and reliability of the factor analyses occuring six sub-scales. That ascertained, the components of scale did not come together under the same sub-scales. We saw that, Cronbach-Alfa values and correlations of sub-scales at item and reliability analyses were low. The statistic analyses interested in scale showed that the scales are not a validity and reliability inventory used for measurement of social skill level on adolescents (8. Class and 9. Class). The findings emphasize the necessity of the devices measuring social skill level and point out the necessity of a lot of research about this subject.
